Mucus !

And here I write about a "YUCK!" topic - be warned.

.

I promise to make it short not with no intention to revisit it any time soon.

So here we go, you have been warned.

I recently did a "Dairy Challenge" for 10 days, and I had to realize that before I started with the Paleo Diet, there was something substantially different with all things mucous and mucous related (like other stuff produced by the skin and mucous membranes).
  • First of all I used to wake up every day with a clogged nose. My nose used to produce more mucous and I had much more pronounced post-nasal drip.
  • The next thing was that my ears produced some ear wax that I had to clean out regularly
  • And the third thing was that some kind of "residue" did collect in the corners of my eyes (if you catch my drift)
  • And related to this I'd say are my acne problem, that came from dairy – where some sebaceous glands produce to much of their stuff.
All these thing have changed for the better. Before I went on the Paleo Diet, it was like something was pushing the "PRODUCE MUCUS!!!" button in my body. Some of which returned when reintroducing dairy (and bread) for 10 days.

Take with my other symptoms which reek like a case Behçet's, I'd say something in dairy was hitting my skin and mucous membranes – either directly, or rather by triggering some kind of immune reaction.

What I'd give if I'd knew some more about the mechanisms.
